Bison Families!
RESPONSIBLE: Attendance Matters
Attendance supports each student's academic success. Beyond the classroom, consistent attendance is a critical workforce readiness skill. Showing up on time, being present, and demonstrating reliability are habits that lay the foundation for future career success.
As a school, we AIM for 90% attendance every day, week, month and school year!
To help families stay informed, staff will begin reaching out this week if your student has 3 or more absences to offer support and share their office hours.
Key Attendance Policy Reminders:
-
10 Minutes Late: Counts as an absence.
-
10 Consecutive Days Missed: Results in a drop from class (no credit).
-
10th Absence: Placed on an Attendance Contract.
-
20th Absence: Results in loss of credit and a "W" on the transcript.
-
Credit Loss Rule: Students will lose credit in any course that they have missed 20 or more times in a semester regardless of their course grade. Both excused and unexcused absences count toward this total (absences for school-sponsored activities do not count).
How Families Can Help:
- Encourage your student by regularly checking their Infinite Campus account.
- If you need help setting up Infinite Campus reminders when your student is late, please check the IC Help Desk at https://www.laramie1.org/service-desk-and-support
-
Absence Calls: Parents, please call the school when your student is sick or will be late due to uncontrollable circumstances.
Thank you for partnering with us to build strong families and keep our Bison engaged and on track!
